Typical Business Hours Speed: This is the typical download speed you may experience between 9am and 5pm. It is not a guaranteed minimum speed and you may experience lower speeds during this period and at other times. Speed will vary on a number of factors such as technology type, plan choice and internet traffic demand. Typical Business Hour upload and download speeds are estimated by reference to the previous nbn® wholesale speeds provided to TPG Telecom. Following the migration of these services to the Vocus network, the speeds estimated above will be updated once measurements are obtained.
Plans are subject to line speed capability, location, feasibility, availability and service qualification by Vocus.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still have questions? Here's the most frequently asked questions about Business nbn® Internet plans from Vocus.
Once an order is approved, we’ll start provisioning your service straight away. Your business modem is typically delivered within 3 business days.
While your modem is on its way, we’ll continue working behind the scenes to prepare your connection. In many cases, once your service is provisioned and you’ve received your modem, you can get connected right away — simply plug it in and follow the setup instructions.
Connection timeframes can vary depending on your location, access type and whether an nbn® technician visit is required. We’ll keep you informed if anything extra is needed.
We provide a business‑grade Netcomm NL20MESH‑03 modem, delivered straight to your business and ready to go. Delivery is typically within 3 business days.
The modem is $0 upfront on a minimum 24 month term and comes with built‑in 4G backup, helping keep your business online if there’s a temporary interruption to your service. Your bill will include a modem charge and corresponding credit against either the modem charge or your monthly plan charge.
There’s nothing extra to buy or configure — we’ve taken care of the essentials so you can get up and running faster.
Business nbn® Internet services from Vocus require the use of our Netcomm NL20MESH‑03 modem. This ensures your service is correctly configured and fully supported, including features like 4G backup and compatibility with our network and service levels.
A static IP is a fixed internet address that doesn’t change over time. For businesses, this can be particularly useful for secure remote access, hosting services or applications, improved connection stability, and more predictable performance for business‑critical systems. Vocus Business nbn® Internet plans include a static IP as standard, making it easier to support the way modern businesses work.
Yes. If your business needs more speed, consistency or dedicated performance, Vocus offers a range of higher‑performance connectivity options beyond standard business nbn® plans.
Vocus Fast Fibre provides a dedicated fibre connection over our own fibre network that isn’t shared with other users, delivering more consistent performance compared to contended business nbn® services. We also offer nbn® Enterprise Ethernet, which connects directly into the Vocus high‑performance fibre network as an alternative access option for eligible locations.
Over 5 million homes and businesses on FTTN or FTTC across the country are eligible for the nbn® upgrade. The nbn® is continually improving its network. As a result, the program will continue to be rolled out to more homes and businesses across Australia. Check your address on www.nbnco.com.au/residential/upgrades/more-fibre to see if your premises are eligible for a nbn® fibre upgrade today.
There is generally no charge for this upgrade. However, nbn® will complete an initial scope before the installation to determine if extra infrastructure (e.g. conduit and trenching) is required to complete the installation. If this is the case, the extra infrastructure cost may incur additional charges.
A fibre upgrade usually takes two weeks from the day it has been requested, but it can take longer if the site is heritage-listed or if nbn® needs to make technical changes at your address. We will keep you informed along the way and work with nbn® in aiming to deliver a seamless transition with minimal interruption to your business.
An nbn® technician will come out to your premises and install a Premises Connection Device (PCD) on the outside of the premises and then install the Network Termination Device (NTD) on the inside of the premises.
We will contact you with the next available date for an nbn® technician to visit your premises for the installation. If you want to change the appointment time, let us know, and we can reschedule it to a time that better suits you.
Vocus Business nbn® plans are available across a range of nbn® access technologies, depending on what’s available at your business address.
With Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), a fibre‑optic cable runs directly from the nbn® network to your premises. Because the connection is fibre all the way, FTTP typically supports higher speeds and more consistent performance.
Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC), sometimes called nbn® cable, uses fibre to connect the network to a nearby node, then existing cable infrastructure to complete the connection into your building. This technology is commonly used in areas that previously had cable TV services.
Fibre to the Node (FTTN) delivers fibre to a street‑level cabinet (the node), with the final connection into your premises using existing copper wiring. Performance can vary depending on the distance between your premises and the node.
With Fibre to the Building (FTTB), fibre runs to the communications room of a building — typically apartments or multi‑storey offices — and existing internal copper wiring is used to connect individual premises within the building.
Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) brings fibre close to your premises, usually to a small unit near the curb, with the final connection completed over short copper runs. This can offer improved performance compared to longer copper connections.
In some areas, Fixed Wireless is used to connect businesses via radio signals from a nearby nbn® tower, rather than a fixed line. Availability and performance depend on location and signal conditions.
The technology available at your address will determine installation requirements and speed options. You can check availability online, or speak with a Vocus specialist if you’d like help understanding what’s best for your business.
