Vocus and Tesserent team up for networks and cybersecurity

Vocus, Australia’s specialist fibre and network solutions provider, and Tesserent, Australia’s largest listed cybersecurity provider, have announced a partnership to bring their leading network and cybersecurity services to market together.

For Tesserent, the deal represents the first carrier partnership it has entered into and provides both direct and indirect opportunities to work with Vocus’ 5000-plus enterprise and government customers. For Vocus, it provides an important strategic addition to its eco-system of expert partners, through which it provides specialist services to customers.

The partnership will initially see the companies work together on opportunities involving Tesserent’s services in Cyber Strategy and Consulting, Security Advisory, Managed Services and Monitoring, Technical Assurance and Testing, and Secure Cloud Services.

Vocus Chief Executive, Enterprise & Government, Andrew Wildblood, said teaming up with Tesserent was another important way Vocus was bringing leading services and more value to customers.

“When it comes to cybersecurity and secure cloud services, you need to know you’ve got the right level of expertise and support, and that your IT environment is operating in the way you want.”

“We saw during the height of COVID, the dramatic shifts our customers needed to make to their networks, and operating models, in order to keep their people safe and their businesses running. Now as organisations adjust to hybrid working as business as usual, it’s critical to know you have secure foundations in place to support your business,” Mr Wildblood said.

“And now, network and cybersecurity skills are in short supply and can be costly to recruit, which makes this partnership with Tesserent, and what it can bring to customers, even more valuable,” he said.

Tesserent CEO, Kurt Hansen, said the level of digital transformation taking place across industry and government also posed a potential risk that organisations moved faster than their current security postures could handle.

“The speed of digital and technology-enabled change makes it an exciting time to be in business, particularly as we move into a post-COVID environment where growth is high on everyone’s agenda,” he said.

“Cloud, edge data centres, artificial intelligence, and even remote working – they all give us enormous possibilities, but they also mean a far more distributed environment for organisations to manage.”

“Which is why we’re excited to be bringing our integrated solutions across identification, protection and monitoring together with the trusted high-capacity fibre and network solutions of Vocus. It really does offer customers a compelling set of solutions and value,” he said.
